HUGH WOOLDRIDGE has designed lighting for ballet, dance, theatre and television productions throughout Europe, Africa, Australia, Scandinavia, Japan and North America.

Specialising in musical productions, he lit the premiere productions of the award-winning JEEVES TAKES CHARGE (The Lyric Hammersmith, London); the Andrew Lloyd Webber / Don Black song-cycle TELL ME ON A SUNDAY with Marti Webb (The Peacock Theatre, London) and Andrew Lloyd Webber's VARIATIONS (The Royal Festival Hall, London); the UK Tour of Wayne Sleep's DASH; Liz Robertson's one-woman show JUST LIZ compiled by Alan Jay Lerner (The Duke of York's Theatre, London); the UK Tour of THE MAGIC OF THE MUSICALS with Marti Webb and the spectacular 20th Anniversary Concert Tour of JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR with Paul Nicholas.

He regularly designs lighting for the UK's leading dance and ballet companies including THE WORLD OF GISELLE for The Royal Ballet; Stewart Avon Arnold and Claud Paul Henry's Dance Theatre London; The Royal Ballet Choreographic Group and New Dance for Rambert Dance at The Riverside Studios. As well as numerous regional theatre productions, other premiere productions lit include the Charles Strouse opera, NIGHTINGALE, with Sarah Brightman (The Buxton Opera Festival); Deborah Moggach's DOUBLE TAKE (Minerva, Chichester); Richard Crane's DECENT THINGS (Bush Theatre, London); Dennis McIntyre's SPLIT SECOND (The Lyric Hammersmith, London); THE FABULOUS SINGLETTES (The Comedy Theatre, London) and three spectacular concert performances of JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR introduced by Tim Rice at The Barbican Centre, London.           more>>
